1. Service Description

Recipe Cost Estimator is a web-based application designed to help home bakers and food entrepreneurs calculate recipe costs, including ingredients, packaging, and labor. Our service uses artificial intelligence to analyze recipes and provide cost estimates based on regional pricing data.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account through Auth0, our authentication provider. When you register, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activities under your account
• Be at least 13 years of age

3. Subscription Plans and Pricing

Recipe Cost Estimator offers multiple subscription tiers:

• Free Plan: 3 estimates per month, no recipe storage
• Starter Plan: $4.99/month - 30 estimates per month, 25 stored recipes, AI editing features
• Pro Plan: $12.99/month - 200 estimates per month, unlimited stored recipes, all AI features
• Pay-As-You-Go: $0.25 per estimate - Buy credit packs (10, 25, or 50 credits), 10 stored recipes, AI editing features

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Subscription fees are billed monthly and automatically renew unless cancelled. Pay-as-you-go credits expire one year from the date of purchase.

4. Refund and Cancellation Policy

We want you to be satisfied with our service. Our refund policy includes:

• Subscriptions: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
• 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee: First-time subscribers may request a full refund within 30 days of their initial subscription purchase if not satisfied with the service.
• Annual Plans: If applicable, prorated refunds are available for annual subscriptions cancelled before renewal.
• Pay-As-You-Go Credits: Credits are non-refundable once purchased. Unused credits expire one year from purchase date.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or any harmful content
• Use automated systems to scrape or download content from the service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service
• Share your account credentials with others
• Abuse or overwhelm our systems with excessive requests

6. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain all rights to the recipes, ingredients, and data you submit to the service. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process and store your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Our Content: The Recipe Cost Estimator service, including its design, functionality, algorithms, and output (excluding your submitted recipes), is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the service without our written permission.

7. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. We collect and process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the service, you consent to our data practices as outlined in the Privacy Policy.

8. AI-Generated Estimates

Our service uses artificial intelligence to generate cost estimates. While we strive for accuracy, estimates are approximations based on available data and should not be considered as exact or guaranteed pricing. Actual costs may vary based on:

• Regional price fluctuations
• Supplier and vendor variations
• Seasonal availability
• Market conditions
• Specific product brands and quality

You are responsible for verifying estimates and making informed business decisions based on your own research and local market conditions.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not responsible for business losses, lost profits, or damages resulting from your use of cost estimates
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service

10. Service Modifications and Termination

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time
• Change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers
• Update these Terms of Service (notice will be provided for material changes)
• Terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms

11. Third-Party Services

Our service integrates with third-party providers:

• Auth0: Authentication and identity management
• Stripe: Payment processing
• OpenRouter: AI model access for recipe analysis

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Recipe Cost Estimator, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property matters.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a prominent notice on the service. Your continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
